Tim Bolitho-Jones
Confident but inexperienced, I am a 25 year old from England who recently graduated from Southampton University with a Masters degree in Film Studies. Up until now, I have looked upon journalistic writing as more of a hobby than a full blown career move and when not buried beneath big piles of text books while studying, would often write film reviews for the Internet Movie Database. Alongside this, I also occasionally would put together reviews of albums or heavy metal concerts for a website that has now sadly folded.
However, I am no longer satisfied in writing purely to pass the time. Selling myself has never been one of my strengths but I can say this with hand on heart and mean every word: I write extremely strong reviews, whether it is of the latest blockbuster sensation or Metallica at Wembley Stadium.
Therefore I'm very keen to finally take the first step towards a professional writing career and when my girlfriend drew my attention to Suite101 it seemed like the right place to do so. I have had a review of the movie '300' appear in my University newspaper and some concerts in Reverb Magazine but am otherwise relatively inexperienced. Therefore the only thing I can boast about is my passion for writing, especially when it comes to my two great loves; movies and heavy metal music.
Everything that I manage to successfully publish on here is open to commenting. I welcome any and all feedback.
